Picking Up the Pieces isn't just a show built for playing classic songs, it's a carefully choreographed presentation of a Canadian Legend by Benjamin Williams, a young man who has studied Lightfoot's material more than anyone on the scene today.

Benjamin Williams is a staple on the Edmonton music scene. At a very young age he began busking outside of Hockey games and performing farmer's markets with a majority of his material at the time being Gordon Lightfoot's catalog. As he progressed he moved up to pubs, hosting open stages and performing outdoor summer events and collaborating with John Hewitt in the New Americans. Benjamin often performs over 5 shows a week and has a repertoire that would leave any music fan wowed and in awe.

In early 2024 through Second Sunset the birth of the notion that a proper early Lightfoot trio show should be put together in tribute to the great Canadian Legend. With this in mind Benjamin Williams was the only person who could do it with merit, knowledge and precision to capture the essence of Lightfoot without trying to be Lightfoot. To complete the trio Patrick Hughes (Nuela Charles, John Hewitt) and Connor Miskiman (Electric Religious) were added on lead guitar and bass respectively. The trio is staged in early Lightfoot style with Benjamin standing out front and the boys sitting behind that star of the show.

From deep album cuts to familiar tunes and all the old echoes from Gord's Gold you'll be singing along, tapping your feet and remembering the first time you heard these massive melodies that changed the world and moreso you'll be hearing them performed in true fashion, they way Lightfoot wanted them to sound.
